The Water of Life flows from the cross, which is Christ's throne. Beside the river grows the tree of life; "and the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations." (Rev. 22:2)

The emblem on the cross is the Chi Rho, an ancient symbol for the name of Christ.

This form of the Cross is an ancient symbol of the Sacraments, Baptism and Holy Communion. Jesus promised "those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty. The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life." (John 4:14)
In the waters of holy baptism, we are forgiven and healed. At the Lord's Table, where Jesus crucified and risen comes to us in the bread and wine, we are nourished with the healing power of Christ.
